Sometimes, having a big heart is not a good thing. If you’ve been diagnosed with heart failure (sometimes called HF, congestive heart failure or CHF), it means that your heart may be enlarged and can no longer pump blood efficiently throughout your body and to your vital organs. Along with symptoms that might include chest pain, shortness of breath or swelling (edema) in your legs or ankles, heart failure often leaves you feeling tired — and that constant fatigue may rob you of the ability to do the little things of everyday life. If you have heart failure, you may be eligible for a new clinical research study. The PEERLESS-HF clinical research study is currently underway in the United States and Canada to determine the safety and effectiveness of a new investigational therapy called HeartNet™. HeartNet is an implantable device that is placed around the heart and may help to stop further enlargement and control the symptoms of heart failure. If you (or someone you know) has heart failure, isn’t it worth a call to find out more and see if you might be eligible to participate in this study?
